Sindh, Italy Discuss Investment Opportunities in Key Sectors

KARACHI, Aug 31, 2026: Sindh has invited Italian investors to explore opportunities across multiple sectors as Provincial Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah met Italian Consul Fabrizio Bielli in Karachi on Monday.

The meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, with Shah briefing the Italian consul on development projects being undertaken by the Sindh government, according to a statement issued by the Sindh Directorate of Press Information.

Nasir Shah invited Italian investors to consider opportunities in different sectors of Sindh, describing the province as a potentially profitable destination for investment. He said the provincial government was prioritising development, public welfare and relief for citizens, according to the statement.

The minister also highlighted the Sindh government's ongoing development agenda, saying the province's development process was continuing under the direction of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the statement said.

Shah said Pakistan and Italy enjoyed cordial bilateral relations and expressed the hope that economic engagement could be further expanded through investment and cooperation.

The meeting comes against a broader backdrop of efforts to deepen Pakistan-Italy economic and commercial ties. The Italian Consulate in Karachi has highlighted economic, commercial and trade cooperation as an important component of bilateral relations.

The two sides also discussed matters of mutual interest during the meeting. Shah thanked Consul Bielli for visiting the Sindh government and presented him with traditional Sindhi gifts of Ajrak and a Sindhi cap, according to the provincial government's statement.
