KARACHI, Aug. 27, 2026: The U.S. Consulate General in Karachi has launched an interactive travelling exhibition on American history and founding principles, using education and cultural engagement as tools of public diplomacy in Pakistan.
The “Road to Liberty” exhibition opened at Lincoln Corner Karachi and will travel to educational and cultural institutions across the U.S. Consulate General’s consular district, including Karachi and Hyderabad, through December 2026.
The exhibition is part of the Founders Museum, a White House initiative marking the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. It introduces Pakistani youth, students and educators to major figures and ideas associated with the founding of the United States, including the principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
U.S. Consul General Charles Goodman opened the exhibition, saying the principles associated with the founding of the United States remained relevant 250 years later.
“The story of America’s founding centers on liberty and natural rights, principles that continue to guide our nation’s journey 250 years later,” Goodman said.
The exhibition uses digital tools to make its historical material interactive. Visitors can scan QR codes to access additional content on their mobile phones, while EducationUSA advisers are conducting virtual tours of U.S. universities named in honour of several of the Founding Fathers featured in the exhibition.
The programme is designed to continue beyond the Karachi launch, with the exhibition scheduled to move to educational and cultural institutions across the consular district. Each stop is expected to include activities such as guided walkthroughs, guest lectures or panel discussions.
The travelling format gives the initiative a broader educational and cultural reach than a single exhibition at the Lincoln Corner. It also brings American historical and educational content into direct contact with Pakistani students and educators at institutions beyond the initial venue.
Lincoln Corners are resource centres established through partnerships between the U.S. Mission to Pakistan and Pakistani universities, public libraries and cultural institutions. They provide access to educational resources, English-language programmes and opportunities for cross-cultural engagement.
For Pakistani visitors, the “Road to Liberty” programme combines historical content with access to information about U.S. higher education, making education and cultural exchange central elements of the initiative’s engagement with local audiences.
